Spring, maybe?
It’s beginning to look a lot like Spring! While we still may get a blast of winter, the longer days and the warmer temperatures are giving us hope that spring is around the corner. Are you dreaming of all that fresh produce and beautiful flowers? Come to the library and pick up a seed catalog and start planning! If you want to stay in the doldrums of winter, come check out several of our new books and enjoy a good read while you patiently wait for changing of the seasons.
Roar…Goes the Dinosaur Storytime will be March 7th at 9:00am. Bring the youngster in your life for a roaring good time as we read dinosaur books, stomp like a dinosaur, and go on a hunt for elusive dinosaur eggs. While geared for children toddler through 2nd grade, everyone is welcome!
Stop in and take a look at all the neat builds our Lego Club patrons have made! From planets to monsters their imaginations are huge and their creativity will make you smile. Lego Club for 2nd through 6th graders will be Thursdays, March 12th and 26th.
With the weather changing, now is the perfect time to bring your infant through preschooler to Listen and Play! We read a few books then give the kids an opportunity to play and look at more books. Lego Club continues! We had a great attendance of young patrons for our Lego Club in January and we will continue to offer Lego Club two Thursdays of every month through the month of May. In February, those dates are February 6th and 20th from 3:45-4:45. This club is open to 2nd-6th graders and is a great opportunity for kids to express their imagination. Lego club is cooperatively funded by a Youth Excellence Grant from the Nebraska Library Commission, the Lied Battle Creek Public Library Foundation, and through the donations of the community.
The Battle Creek Library Foundation needs you! Our foundation is always accepting new members. The Foundation is a group of people who believe the library is an important part of the community. They help make improvements to the building, provide prizes for the Summer Reading Program, purchase books for the library to put in its collection, and help support the various programs that the library does throughout the year. Come to the next meeting, Thursday, February 6th at 6:30pm in the library meeting room to join this community-impacting group.
