Join us at the Holdrege Area Public Library for a special Humanities Nebraska program featuring Michael McDonald, presented in celebration of National Poetry Month. This unique presentation introduces early nighthawk tunes, once used by working cowboys to keep their herds settled at night. McDonald will share melodies from Thomas Moore’s Irish Melodies, as well as the works of Stephen Foster and George F. Root, bringing history to life through music. The program will conclude with cowboy poetry set to his original western-style compositions, celebrating the storytelling traditions of the American West.
This event is open to all ages, but seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Join us on April 10th at 6:00 pm for an evening of history, music, and poetry that captures the spirit of the open range. Don’t miss this unforgettable experience!
