Born in Chicago, Snyder has a rich musical background, including a scholarship to the Stan Kenton Band Camp and an honor in the Downbeat magazine Student Hall of Fame. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin and has studied Korean music in Seoul. With over 100 published works, Snyder&#8217;s music has been performed by numerous ensembles and won several awards. He has taught jazz, ethnomusicology, and rock and roll at UNL and is also an accomplished jazz performer.
