Hooper Public Library recently received a memorial grant in the amount of $1250.00 from the family of Nova Tillman. Her son, Kevin Boatright recently contacted Cherie Anderson at HPL about possibly donating to the library and asked what funds might be used for. It was decided to put a bench in front of the library as well as add some new materials to the collection. The bench will have a plaque “In Memory of Nova Tillman” and any books added will have bookplates with her name as well. Nova was born in Hooper in 1926 and loved her hometown. These are wonderful gifts to share with the community.
In addition to that exciting news Hooper Public Library is gearing up for their annual bake sale & used book sale coming up in April during National Library Week (10th-16th). If you have gently used books or DVD movies you’d like to donate please bring them to Hooper Public Library by April 10th. **VHS tapes, textbooks or encyclopedias cannot be accepted** This annual sale benefits the summer reading program and other children’s programs. If you would like to donate baked goods for the bake sale or make a free will donation please contact Cherie Anderson at 654-3833 for more details.
