Last week marked my 7th anniversary as Director &amp; Librarian here. Lois &amp; Kay are still my trusty substitutes and keep things running smoothly when I am not here.<\/p>\n<p>Our Board of Trustees consists of 5 members of our community and they recently elected officers.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Mattes serves as president, Sally Oberg is vice president &amp; Jamie Volpp is our board secretary. Anne Skidmore &amp; Kelly Abrahams also serve as trustees.<\/p>\n<p>Recently the board &amp; I were able to accomplish a goal we have had for quite some time.\u00a0 We purchased a new awning for the front of the building and it looks great!<\/p>\n<p>On Halloween I greeted 80 trick or treaters and the adults who accompanied them.\u00a0 It was busy fun night but I did manage to snap a few pictures of the cute costumes that came through.<\/p>\n<p>The holidays are fast approaching now and we will have Mrs. Santa Claus story time again this year at the Main Street\u00a0 Extravaganza so watch for details on that!<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t have a library card here stop in and get one today!\u00a0 In addition to books, magazines &amp; movies you can check out,\u00a0 Hooper Public library offers many services including, Nebraska Overdrive, free Wi-Fi, computers for patron use, copies, die cut, meeting room use &amp; inter library loan.<\/p>\n<p>Stop in and check it out!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Time flies when you\u2019re having fun!
