Sunday, April 6, was the Friends of the Kimball Library program with guest speaker Charlotte Endorf sharing information through her topic “Nebraska Spirit: The North Platte Canteen”. If you missed this, you missed some wonderful personal stories from veterans and the women who managed to keep the canteen going for 51 months with all volunteers and some neat displays.  This is a unique part of Nebraska history during World War II. Women and men all over western Nebraska helped support the efforts of the Canteen, even Kimball County.  Kimball ladies participated in serving the military personal too.

Membership in the Friends of the Kimball Library is open to anyone interested in supporting the library and is only $5.00 per year. There is more information about the Friends on the website
