During the past year the library has been fortunate to have a student intern, Courtney Hunsaker. She has become an asset in filling in and assisting staff with shelving, helping patrons, providing technical computer skills in promoting library activities including Farmer’s Day and Summer Reading Programs. She developed and presented programs twice for the Pre=school Story Time. We thank her for her work, wish her the best as she graduates and goes on to college, and we enjoyed getting to know her.

Soon Abigail Johnson will be an intern. The Internship is provided with funds up to $1000.00 per library through the Nebraska Library Commission, the Nebraska Library Association and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Abigail will be starting about mid-May and after some training she’ll be ready to help with our busy Summer Reading schedule. The purpose of the Internship is to introduce young people to the many facets of the library world – public, school, academic, medical, legal and other libraries. This is a method of recruiting students into the library science field.
