The week of April 1-5 was Money Smart Week and this week the education is being continued today through Money Smart Kimball and Jennifer Provance with an educational program for the 5th and 6th grade classes. Her topic will be comparison shopping for the 6th grade. Thank you Jennifer.

Here are some financial websites that might have information for you:  http://federalreserveeducation.org/ has financial videos for young adults and much more; http://www.moneycrashers.com/best-cash-back-credit-cards/ is a site that rates credit cards that promote cash back; and http://www.360financialliteracy.org/360 degrees of financial literacy is a free program of the nation’s certified public accountants to help Americans understand their personal finances through every stage of life.

During the Money Smart Kimball presentation for the 5th and 6th grade classes 4 students won a drawing for $10.00 to add to their saving account or start a savings account. The winners who have come to claim their funds are Brendan Walker & Chelsea Malson in the 6th grade and Sydney Keller & Jaden Lee in the 5th grade.  Congratulations to those students.  They were all excited about the plan.  If they keep their account current or add to it for 6 months, they will each receive another $10.00.
