Story Hour begins after school on Wednesdays starting September 16th at 3:45 – 4:45.  On days when school dismisses early for professional development, story hour will meet from 2:30 -3:30.

The Summer Reading Children’s Program will end on Wednesday, July 8th, with a puppet show performed by Lisa Laird and her wonderful Pockets Full of Fun puppets.  The show will begin at 10:30 and last an hour.  Besides being a lot of fun, each child will receive a prize.

  Join us for the July book discussion of Ordinary Grace.  Author William Kent Krueger will discuss his book with us at the Ponca State Park Resource Center on Monday evening, July 20th.  A pot-luck meal will be served starting at 6:15 (pulled pork sandwiches will be provided).  The presentation will begin at 7 PM.  You may check out a copy of the book at Ponca Carnegie Library.

The last story hour of the season will be Wednesday, May 6th after school.  Summer Reading will begin June 3rd, Wednesday mornings, from 10:30 – 11:30.

No Chess club in April due to no school on April 6.

Area children celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday again this year with facepainting, balloons, cake and pizza, crafts and stories.  Melissa Ruhrer,  Friends of the Library, Kohls employees, Ponca Chapter of the National Honor Society and Caleb Foulks,  together with Ponca Medical Clinic, Cooks Country Store, HyVee, Walmart and Sams Club worked together to bring an evening of fun and entertainment with a Dr. Seuss flavor.

It’s time for the annual Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash!  Don’t miss the fun!

Tuesday, March 3rd at 6 PM.  Toddlers through second graders and their parents.

Mary “B” Persinger will be at Ponca Carnegie Library on Saturday, February 7th between 11AM and 2 PM to sign copies of her newly published book, Bailey’s Butterfly.  Sponsored by Friends of the Library, this event will welcome back to Ponca a former Ponca Public School teacher and counselor.

Having the NJ-L archived newspapers available online to search, read, and print will be SOOOOO nice!

 has been chosen as the book to read for the next book discussion scheduled for Thursday,  February 5th, 2015.  Books are available at the library.
