Our library serves as an information center for all individuals in the Sargent Area. We seek to inspire life-long learning, and provide research tools to serve and strengthen our community and ignite imaginations.

One of my least favorite jobs at the library is getting rid of old books. There is limited space, so some of the books that are well worn or never get checked out have to be discarded. These books are available free (donations accepted) for whomever wants them. Come in and look them over. You may find the perfect book for you.
Here’s an interesting website called Phone Spell that will generate words from your phone number. This makes it much easier for people to remember. Wouldn’t it be cool if the library’s number could be 308-527-READ or something similar? Well, alas, we’re not that lucky. The best combination they could come up with is 308-jar-gag1. That’s probably not a great way to remember the library 🙂
Come into the library and find a good book. Stay inside and beat the heat. Remember, we also have 4 public computers with a color printer and scanner. We can make black & white and color copies, as well as send and receive faxes.

There will be a library board meeting on Wednesday, July 20th at 12:00 noon. This will be held at the library, and everyone is welcome.
The newest book by Janet Evanovich has just come in.
The 2010-2011 Nebraska Blue Book has just been added to our collection. The Blue Book is Nebraska’s official reference manual, and is a great source of information about the state’s government, geography, economy, history and culture.
