Spalding Public Library will soon be expanding its services with eBooks, and audiobooks available to enjoy from the library’s website. Library card holders will be able to borrow popular digital media anytime, anywhere by visiting http: http://libraries.ne.gov/spalding.
Users will be able to browse the library’s website, borrow titles with a valid library card, and enjoy on all major computers and devices, including iPhone®, iPad®, Nook®, Android™ phones and tablets, and Kindle® [U.S. Libraries]. eBooks can be read immediately on any device with an internet browser and all titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!
We are in dire need of donations to the library towards the yearly fee of $500 that OverDrive charges each public library, and for this year only, the library has to pay an additional $500 set up fee to OverDrive. The library is so excited about offering this digital lending library service to Spalding!! In collaboration with the Nebraska Library Commission, we are in the process of getting the required documentation and library card numbers submitted to OverDrive to get the digital lending library up and running on our website.
This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for users with a library card.
