You&#8217;re supposed to have the kids cut out the parts as they listen to the story but that&#8217;s geared more towards 1st\/2nd grade level and I didn&#8217;t want our preschool\/toddlers cutting quite yet. They just listened as I read the story and then cut out the pieces. They loved seeing the jack-o-lantern face when I opened it up. We actually painted these first so that they could start drying while we were reading stories. Can you spot the candy-corn hand-prints? Some kids really enjoyed getting their hands painted but we had one kiddo that didn&#8217;t like to be &#8220;dirty&#8221; so she was reluctant to get her hand painted.
