Policies

LIBRARY CARDS

  • Library cards are free to all residents of Blue Hill
  • Children under the age of 5 need to be accompanied by an adult or guardian to obtain a card
  • A parent or guardian must sign for a child under the age of 12
  •           All current card holders are eligible for a free NebrasKard to use at other libraries across the state

BORROWING

  • Books and audios can be borrowed for two weeks
  • DVDs can be borrowed for one week
  • Renewals can be requested for material less that 3 months old if no reserves are on file
  • A fine of five cents a day will be charged for overdue items; movies are charged fifty cents a day for late returns
  • Lost and damaged material will be charged at replacement cost

 

 COMPUTERS

  • Three public use computers are available for patron use
  • A laptop is also available when the desktop computers are in use
  • Printing is five cents per page
  • Computer use is limited to one hour
  • Complete computer use policy is available at the library

NON-RESIDENTS

  • Non-residents of the City of Blue Hill may purchase a family card for an annual fee of $15

DONATIONS

  • Memorial Gifts may be made to the Blue Hill Public Library Friends Foundation
  • Donations of materials to the Library are used where necessary at the discretion of the Library Director and Board

INTER-LIBRARY LOANS

  • ILL (inter-library loans) or requests from other libraries will be made at no charge beyond $1.50 for return postage
