16 Microfilmed Reels of Silver Creek Sand Added to CC Public Library Digital Archives Website!

6 MICROFILMED REELS of the SILVER CREEK SAND newspaper have just been added to our digital archives website!

The years included are 1908-1964.
A huge THANK-YOU goes out to the Village of Silver Creek for funding the addition of these 16 reels!
Also, a huge THANK-YOU to Camy Rea, Charles Noyd, and Neeli Noyd for presenting this project to the Village of Silver Creek, for the consideration of funding! 
The online addition of these 20,393 pages will benefit a tremendous amount of people for generations to come!

The newspapers in the database are fully searchable by keyword and date (making it easy to quickly explore historical content). Use the archives to gain a local perspective on historical news, to research your family history, or to simply read about a person or event of interest. Additional pages will be added as our project progresses. We’re now finished adding all of our Silver Creek newspapers.

We’d like to fix you up with a BLIND DATE (with a book of course); after all we are a library! We’ll select a variety of books, wrap them up in plain brown paper (no peeking) and you won’t know the “identity” of your blind date until you get it home. Will it be fiction or non-fiction, a mystery, biography, or a cookbook? Funny, heart-breaking or informative? Each book will have a “Rate Your Date” slip.

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 8 Mission to the Moon via a LIVE WEBCAST on Thursday, December 27 @ 1:00pm-2:00pm CST!😲👍🌛
Experience a a guided recreation of the voyage along the actual path, synchronized with the astronauts’ spoken words. Featured Presenter: Dr. Carter Emmart.
Dr. Emmart is the Director of Astrovisualization at the American Museum of Natural History.
We will be offering a viewing of the webcast in our library meeting room (on our 65″, Ultra HD television) to anyone that would like to watch it).
