BRAND NEW on our web page is a link to our NEW DIGITAL ARCHIVES WEBSITE!!???
The newspapers in the database are fully searchable by keyword and date (making it easy to quickly explore historical content). Use the archives to gain a local perspective on historical news, to research your family history, or to simply read about a person or event of interest. Additional pages will be added as the project progresses.

CC Public Library Awarded With Two of the 2017 Merrick County United Way Community Grants!

The first grant is for our Launch Pad Mobile Makerspace! We’ll be creating a mobile space within the library, where people can gather to create, invent, and learn! The makerspace will include fun activities that will focus on: STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math).
The second grant is for an Edgerton Explorit Center Science Program ~ “Bubbles” for kids during 2017 Summer Reading. It will also be used to purchase jump ropes and hula hoops for fun fitnesss/health-related events.
We’re excited about the projects and can’t wait to share them with you!

Central City Public Library Celebrates National Library Week April 10-15!

Our library will join with other libraries nationwide April 10 -15, to celebrate National Library Week. 

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It’s a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries – school, public, academic and special – participate.

To celebrate the week – Stop in anytime April 10-15 ~ check out an item and register for our DAILY BOOK DRAWING!  One winner will be drawn each day from April 10-15!!

Book Signing With Todd Williams at Central City Public Library on Monday, July 3rd!

Book Signing ~ Todd Williams (Central City native and professional artist) will be signing copies of his book “The Legacy of Nebraska” – a beautiful commemoration to all 93 Nebraska counties.  Coffee & cookies will be served.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library gives one million FREE BOOKS to children every month. Your *child (up to 5 yrs. old) could receive a new, carefully selected book in the mail each month, at no cost or obligation.?????
*Children ages birth to five who are legal residents of Hall, Hamilton, Howard or Merrick Counties in Nebraska, may be registered online at: www.heartlandunitedway.org or stop by our library to pick up a mail in registration form.
