The library followed the town’s “under construction” theme: with a MULTI-PART PROJECT that just WRAPPED UP!
The project included: painting of our meeting room, three study rooms, director’s office, and staff work area. Some of the areas had not been painted since the building was built (over 25 years ago). This project was funded by the library’s endowment fund.

The library would like to offer a “Toddler Time” program quarterly for children 2-4 years old.
It would consist of a theme, stories that are read to the children, games and movement activities, and songs.
We need your input. If you have a toddler, please take a minute or two to respond to our questionnaire (below). Thank-you for your participation!
Don’t miss out on MONDAY EVENING’S (July 10) “BEHIND THE MEANING OF NAMES” presentation at 6:30pm-7:30pm!
Karen Gettert Shoemaker (the author of the One Book One Nebraska 2016 selection (and Humanities Nebraska speaker): will read from and discuss the role of family stories and historic research in the writing of her historic novel “The Meaning of Names.” This presentation includes discussion of WWI, the Influenza Pandemic of 1918, the experiences of immigrants and first-generation Americans in the early 1900s, and the role of men and women in a changing society, as well as the many subjects readers bring to the conversation.
Refreshments will be served.
Humanities Nebraska provides major funding for this
program. HN receives support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Nebraska State Legislature, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and private donations.
WWI and America Grant Funding Provided by: World War I and America, a two-year national initiative of The Library of America presented in partnership with The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the National World War I Museum and Memorial, and other organizations, with generous support from National Endowment for the Humanities.
