New Imagination Library Program Promotes Early Childhood Literacy

Any parent of a child under age 5 in Hall, Howard, Hamilton or Merrick counties can sign up to receive a book each month for their kids from birth until their fifth birthday. The program is completely free, and the parents’ only obligation is to read to their kids.   The Imagination Library Program encourages parents to read to their children, which develops a strong foundation for learning.
Heartland United Way will be @ our library on Wednesday, June 26 1:00-2:15 to accept registrations (during our afternoon Summer Reading Program). What a great program!! 🙂

Farm Bureau Learning Barn Exhibit on Display @ Library!

farmbureaubarnThe Merrick County Farm Bureau has brought their Learning Barn Exhibit to
the library for a few weeks.  This interactive barn is filled with all kinds of
things that teach children about agriculture, machinery, animals, and related
topics.  Children are encouraged to play with the items and see how things
work.  Very small children should be accompanied by a parent for safety sake.
The display is located in the center area of the library.
