Members attending were Susan Short, Angie Ridgway, Nancy Bischoff, Thelma Soucie, and Stephanie Haack. Councilman Casey Kluver attended for the city. The Board reviews old business and moved to new. Ideal Electric will be doing electrical work within two weeks and the library may need to be closed for the work. Statistics were presented for the month of April: total materials in catalog 7686; Total yearly circulations 809, Total monthly circulations 179; total visits 300; Total computer use 150; and Total reference questions 1184. The Library participated in National Library Week and joined Region 9 Services Coordination for the Week of the Child. Free books and prizes were given out to the kids in celebration. The library received its State award of $604. The Summer reading program is planned and requests for donations will be posted around town. The library repairs from the storms last year should be done soon. Approval to paint inside was given by City Council and Library Board. The Board reviewed bills and the bills thru April total $10,831.50. Councilman Kluver talked with the board about the repairs and the possible closing or reduction in library hours. The Board president and library director will go to the City council meeting to talk further with the council. The Board also discussed the Library’s upcoming Centennial Birthday that will be tentatively planned for Triple F Days in 2014. The Library will not be open this year for the Annual Alumni Banquet. The next meeting will be June 7, 2013
