  • September Used Book Salestop by and check out our used bookshelf. . We have lots of great reads. Freewill donation for the library
  • The library is ready for AR testing. Stop any Sunday, Monday or Wednesday between 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. to test.
  • September 3- The library will be closed in observance of Labor Day.
  • September 10 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at 2:00 P.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center to share stories about their favorite quilts and information about the quilt book they read. The community is invited to attend this event.
  • September 10 – Farmer’s Market at the library. Squash, pumpkins and gourds a plenty. Freewill donation for the library.
  • September 16 – Join us for a spectacular fall storytime at 4:00 P.M. at the library. We will have fall stories, crafts and snacks.
  • September 17 – Farmer’s Market at the library. Squash, pumpkins and gourds a plenty. Freewill donation for the library.
  • September 24 – Kid’s Book Club will meet at the library at 4:00 P.M. to discuss the book – Where the Red Fern Grows.

August 9Bennet Elementary Open House 5:30 – 7:00 P.M.

August 13First day of school at Bennet & Palmyra

August 14 – Palmyra Book Club Road Trip to the International Quilt Museum. We will meet at the library at 1:00 P.M. and carpool to the museum. Anyone is invited to join us to see the amazing exhibit – “War and Pieced.” We will stop at the UNL Dairy Store for ice cream following the tour.

August 16Information Security and Collection Development (2 two-hour workshops), Seward Memorial Library

August 19 – Unicorn Storytime at the library at 4:00 P.M. Join us for an hour of stories, crafts and fun.

August 24, CASTL, “Grants for Small Town Libraries”, Falls City Library & Art Center

August 27 – Kid’s Book Club meets at the library at 4:00 P.M. This is open to all students in grades 4 – 6. Come join us for some fun and lively book discussions.

July 1 – Stop by the library and pick up your Otoe County Fair Guide.

July 4 – Happy 4th of July. The library will be closed.

July 9 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at the library at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the One Book One Nebraska 2018 – Nebraska Presence: an Anthology of Poetry.

July 10 – The Summer Reading Program begins at 6:30 P.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center. Our first program will be Music From Around the WorldMusician David Marsh, a well-known speaker with Humanities Nebraska, will bring an array of musical instruments and entertain us with music from around the world.

July 17 – Our second Summer Reading Program will be– Brett Jurgens, from the Lincoln Gem and Mineral Club. He will bring rocks and gems he has collected from around the world.

July 24 – Our third Summer Reading Program will be – the Instrument Petting Zoo – The Palmyra Memorial Library Youth Advisory Board are musicians and will be bringing their instruments for you to see and perhaps hear them play (if you give them a treat.) We will have brass, woodwinds, and percussion instruments. Pastor Gary Ganger will represent the string section with his guitar and play a few songs for all to enjoy. This will be CRAFT night so come prepared to make a fun craft to take home.

July 26 – July 29 – Otoe County Fair

July 31 – Our final Summer Reading Program will be – Movie Night! Admission will be one canned food item for the Western Otoe County Food Pantry. There will be prizes and treats for all.

May 1 – May Day! Spread a little love with a May basket.

May 1 – Promote literacy in your home with your little one by using the Daily Fun with Your Little One! calendar of activities. These are available at the library.

May 7 – Last day to test for AR. The library will be open to 8:00 P.M.

May 12 – District OR1 Graduation

May 13 – Mother’s Day! Bring your Mom to the library for a special treat!

May 14 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the book – Hannah’s Daughters.

May 16 – Last day of school for elementary students. & May 17 – Last day of school for secondary students.

May 20 – Story time at the Palmyra Memorial Library at 4:00 P.M. We will be having fun with BUBBLES and lots more!!!!!

May 28 – The library will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

April 1 – Happy Easter

April 6 – Kid’s Book Club will be attending the movie – A Wrinkle in Time.

April 8 – 10 – National Library Week! Stop by the library and have a “cookie with a bookie” and try out our new library check out system!

April 9 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the book – Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult.

April 15 – Story time at the Palmyra Memorial Library at 4:00 P.M. Come join in the fun as we read and learn about mice. Yes, those little creatures who scare everyone!

April 23 – Kid’s Book Club will meet at the library at 4:00 P.M.

April 28 – Family Game Night at the Palmyra Activities Center beginning at 6:30 P.M. There will be games for all the family, snacks and lots of door prizes. This is annual event hosted by the Iwan Family and it is GREAT FUN!!

March 2MOVIE NIGHT at 7:00 P.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center. Grab your pillow and blanket and join in the fun. Snacks will be provided.

March 12 – Palmyra Book Club meets at the library at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the book – Enslaved by Ducks.

March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day

March 18 – Story time at the Palmyra Memorial Library at 4:00 P.M. Wear green and be ready to celebrate a belated St. Patrick’s Day!!

March 19 – 4-H Recruitment Night at the library from 4:00 -7:00 P.M. This is the night to register for an opportunity to participate in the Otoe County Fair.

April 6 – The Kid’s Book Club will meet after school to attend the movie A Wrinkle in Time followed by a discussion of how the book compares to the movie.

April 1 – The library will be closed in observance of Easter.
