December 6 – The Palmyra Book Club will be attending a Christmas Tea at the Treasure Trove in Syracuse at 11:00 A.M.

December 9 – Santa is coming to town at 9:30 A.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center.

December 10 – Attend the Christmas Movie Marathon @ the library from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M.

December 11 – Palmyra Book Club will meet at 2:00 P.M. at the library to discuss the book – Dashing Through the Snow.

December 18 – Kid’s Book Club will meet at 4:00 P.M. at the library to discuss the book – Sisters.

December 24 & 25 – The library will be closed in observance of Christmas.

November 2017 Calendar of Events @ Palmyra Memorial Library

Please note the library has new hours. They are: Sunday, Monday and Wednesday- 3:00 – 8:00 P.M.

October 30 – National Candy Corn Day. Enter the candy corn guessing contest and win a WHOLE jar of candy corn. The winner will be announced on November 22nd at 7:00 P.M.

November 5 – Daylight Savings Time ends. Fall back an hour.

November 8Midweek movie at the Palmyra Activities Center at 1:00 P.M. The public is invited to attend.

November 11 – Veterans Day. The library is hosting a showing of the movie about the sinking of the USS Indianapolis in honor of Veteran’s Day at the Palmyra Activities Center at 2:00 P.M. The public is invited. Coffee and cookies will be served following the movie.

November 12Thanksgiving Story Time at the library beginning at 4:00 P.M. We will be cooking up some special Thanksgiving treats!!

November 13 – Palmyra Book Club meets at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the book – Under a Painted Sky. Anyone is invited to attend.

November 23 – Thanksgiving Day

November 27 – Kid’s Book Club meets to discuss the book The Secret School at the library at 4:00 P.M.

 

 

 

Palmyra Memorial Library October 2017 Calendar of Events

New(temporary) Library Hours begin in October. The library will be open from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays.

Hey Kids – Play Halloween Bingo and Win a Treat!

October 8 – Youth Advisory Board Meeting @7:00 P.M. at the library.

October 9 – Palmyra Book Club meets at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the book Hidden Figures.

October 11National Apple Day! Stop by the library and enjoy an apple treat.

October 15 – Halloween Story Time at the library at 4:00 P.M. Be sure and come in costume.

October 23 – Kid’s Book Club will meet at 4:00 P.M. at the library to discuss the book The Magic Thief.

October 28 – Trunk or Treat on main street Palmyra from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M.

October 31 – Happy Halloween!!

Palmyra Memorial Library September Calendar of Events

September is National Library Card Sign-up Month.

September 4 – The library will be closed in observance of Labor Day.

September 10 – Newcomer’s Picnic at the park hosted by the Palmyra Action League.

September 10 – National Grandparent’s Day

September 11 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet to discuss the book – The Dry Leaves of August.

 September 17 – Story time at the library at 4:00 P.M. Each child is asked to bring an old necktie for a craft project we will be making. Story time is open to any child between the ages of 4 – 8 years of age.

September 22 – Autumn begins.

September 24 – 30 – Banned Books Week. Celebrate the right to read!

Palmyra Memorial Library August 2017 Calendar of Events

August 6 – Solar Eclipse Guest Speaker – Professor Emeritus, Edward Schmidt will be presenting to the community information about the upcoming Solar Eclipse which will take place on Monday, August 21st. Professor Schmidt will be at the Palmyra Activities Center on Sunday, August 6th at 2:00 P.M.

August 10 – Palmyra Memorial Library will have a table at the Bennet Elementary Open House which is from 5:30 – 7:30 P.M.

August 14 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at the library at 2:00 P.M. Guest speaker will be Jen Jackson from Barnes and Noble. Come learn what’s new in adult fiction. Anyone is welcome to attend.

August 14 – This will be the first full day of school for District OR1 students

August 20 – Storytime resumes at the library. Join us for a solar eclipse storytime at 4:00 P.M. at the library.

August 21 – The Solar Eclipse will take place at approximately 1:03 P.M. in Palmyra with a duration of approximately one minute 27 seconds.

July 11(Tuesday) – Summer Reading Build a Better World – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Reinvent @ the Palmyra Activities Center at 6:30 P.M.

July 16 (Sunday) – National Ice Cream Day – stop by the library for an ice cream treat!

July 18 (Tuesday) – Summer Reading Build a Better World – Save the Bee Population @ the Palmyra Activities Center at 6:30 P.M.

July 25 (Tuesday) – Summer Reading Through Random Acts of Kindness @ the Palmyra Activities Center at 6:30 P.M.

July 31 (Monday) – Summer Reading Enjoy a Movie and Celebrate with prizes and snacks @ the Palmyra Activities Center at 6:30 P.M.

June 1 – REGISTER NOW FOR THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM!

June 3 – ***Early Bird SpecialGet a jump on the library used book sale. The library will be open from 8:00 A.M. – Noon and have FREE coffee and lots of great reading material for you to purchase.

June 4 – LEGO Sunday! Come, play and create with the 10,000 LEGOS the library has available.

June 6 – Palmyra Book Club will meet at the Palmyra Pub to celebrate their 5th Anniversary at 11:30 A.M. We will be discussing the One Book One Nebraska – Black Elk Speaks.

June 9 – 10 – Palmyra Old Settler Picnic

June 10 – Library Used Book Sale – 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

June 11 – LEGO Sunday! Come, play and create with the 10,000 LEGOS the library has available.

June 14 – Flag Day

June 18 – Father’s Day! It is also LEGO Sunday so dads bring your children to the library and create a masterpiece with some LEGOS!

June 21 – First day of summer.

June 25 – Summer Art Show! Come meet talented artist, Ken Mason and enjoy his beautiful artwork from 2 – 4 P.M. at the library.

Library Used Book Sale & Early Bird Sale

The library used book sale is coming up Saturday, June 10th from 9-3 p.m., BUT we are having an early bird sale on Saturday, June 3 from 8-noon. Free coffee and lots of great books. Be sure and stop by.

Palmyra Memorial Library Calendar of Events for May 2017

May 1 – The Palmyra Memorial Library Board will meet at 6:00 P.M. at the library.

May 1-7 – Children’s Book Week! The theme is “Every Child a Reader!” Stop in and check out your favorite children’s book. My favorite was The Pokey Little Puppy.

May 8 – The Palmyra Book Club will be meeting at 2:00 P.M. to share their favorite book they have read in the past three months. We will post the list on Facebook.

May 14 – Mother’s Day! Hey kids bring your mom to the library and she will receive a free treat.

May 15 – REGISTRATION BEGINS FOR SUMMER READING –

BUILD A BETTER WORLD!

May 21 – Story time returns to the library at 4:00 P.M. Story time is open to any child between the ages of four and eight. Enjoy an hour of fun with stories, games, and snacks.

May 29 – The library will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.
