Our final summer reading session will be Tuesday, July 28th at the Palmyra Activities Center beginning at 6:30 P.M. with super magician Jeff Quinn. We will have our bookwalk, lots of prizes and award our grand prizes to three lucky super readers that have attended two out of four of our sessions and turned in their reading logs. One of the grand prizes is a spiderman life-size balloon.

July 4 – Celebrate Independence Day with a BANG!
July 7 – Summer Reading Program 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center. Come and meet local heroes!
July 12 – Palmyra United Methodist Church celebrates their 150th anniversary.
July 13 – Palmyra Book Club meets at 2:00 P.M. at the library to discuss the book In the Land of Second Chances.
July 14 – Summer Reading Program 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center. Come and learn about Science Heroes and make a bat plane.
July 21 – Summer Reading Program 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center. Wear your favorite super hero t-shirt and blanket and enjoy the movie Big Hero 6. Bring a canned food item for the Western Otoe County Food Bank.
July 28 – Summer Reading Program 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center. Come meet our super hero magician – Jeff Quinn and enter the Book Walk.

Children ages four through eleven are welcome to register for the Palmyra Memorial Library 2015 Summer Reading Program – Every Hero Has a Story! Registration is required so that we can plan for each event. We will meet at the Palmyra Activities Center from 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. each Tuesday in July. Here is the schedule of events:
July 7 – Meet local heroes from the National Guard, Fire and Rescue Squad and Sheriff’s Department.
July 14 – Meet Science Super Heroes with Mrs. Science AKA Lucinda Faunce
July 21 – Movie Night – Wear your favorite Super Hero t-shirt and enjoy a superhero movie!

*Beginning each Monday in June from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. the library will be offering a special program for children four to eight years of age. The program is called Makerspaces and we will be using LEGOs for each session. Children will hear a story and then be challenged to create an object that goes with the story. Space will be limited to eight children due to the nature of the program and the size of the library. Palmyra Memorial Library is the recipient of a LEGO Junior Maker toolkit. Each toolkit contains over 10 thousand LEGO bricks. The kits were donated by LEGO systems to 750 libraries across the United States. The library will be offering Junior Maker programs this summer. Watch for more details…
Palmyra Memorial Library will be hosting the 2nd annual Family Game Night on Friday, April 10th at 7:00 P.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center. Families are invited to come and play games and learn new games. We will provide the games and treats. Just come and have fun!
