The Palmyra Memorial Library will be closed on Sunday, January 15th due to icy weather conditions.  Stay home, be safe and read a good book!

January 1 – Happy New Year!

January 2 – Library will be open to meet your reading needs!

January 9 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at the library at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the book The Swan Gondola by Timothy Schaffert.

January 9 – Palmyra Library Board will meet at 6:00 P.M. at the library.

January 16 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day

January 19 – Conversations Among Small Town Librarians (CASTL) meeting at the Tecumseh Public Library

January 22 – Winter Story Time at the library at 4:00 P.M. We will be making winter crafts, reading stories and enjoying a snack. Anyone between the ages of 4 and 8 is welcome to attend.

January 23 – Kid’s Book Club will meet at the library at 4:00 P.M. to discuss a 2017 Golden Sower Nominee.

January 29 – National Puzzle Day! Stop by the library and try your hand at putting together a puzzle.

We have added more opportunities for you to ESCAPE from the Palmyra Memorial Library during the holiday season.  If you are feeling stressed this holiday, come and relax and have fun at the Palmyra Memorial Library ESCAPE Room,

December 2 & 3 – Visit the library ESCAPE ROOM. This is the “Kid Friendly” weekend. Call or e-mail for reservations!!

December 4 – National Cookie Day! Stop by the library and enjoy a cookie with a “bookie.”

December 9 & 10 – Visit the library ESCAPE ROOM. Call or e-mail for reservations!!

December 10 – Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Palmyra Activities Center from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Be sure and stop and give Santa your wish list.

December 12 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at the library at 1:30 P.M. to go visit the Bess Streeter Aldrich home in Elmwood. The library will be closed from 1:30 – 3:30 P.M.

December 16 & 17 – Visit the library ESCAPE ROOM. Call or e-mail for reservations.

Decembers 19 – The Kid’s Book Club will meet to discuss the book – Bridge to Terabithia.

December 25 – The library will be closed in observance of Christmas. Merry Christmas to all.

December 31 – New Year’s Eve *The library will be closed on Sunday, January 1st.

It’s time to “book” your ESCAPE ROOM at Palmyra Memorial Library! Sign up for a time below, then gather your friends or family and prepare to crack the codes and piece together the puzzles as you work together to finish the challenge and escape within the time limit!

November 8 – Election Day. Be sure and vote!!

November 11 – Veterans Day. Remember those who served.

November 11- YA Committee to Lincoln ESCAPE Room.

November 14 – Palmyra Book Club meets at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the book – My Antonia. Anyone is invited to attend.

November 18 – Movie Night at the Palmyra Activities Center at 7:00 P.M. Doors will open at 6:30 P.M. Snacks will be provided.

October 1 – 31 – Play Halloween Bingo at the library and win a prize.  Stop by the library for your bingo sheet and directions.

October 10 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at 2;00 P.M. at the library to discuss the book – The Impeachment of Abraham Lincoln.  Anyone is welcome to participate in the discussion

October 10 – Youth Advisory Committee will meet at the library at 6:00 P.M.

October 16 – Fall Art Show at the library from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.  Come and meet our guest artist Angela Carroll and view her beautiful photographs of Nebraska.  Angela’s work has been featured in Nebraska Life magazine.

October 23 – Story time at the Palmyra Memorial Library at 4:00 P.M.  We will be going “batty!”  Be sure and dress up in your Halloween costume.  Space is limited so please preregister.

October 24 – Kid’s Book Club will meet at the library at 4:00 P.M. to discuss the book Stick Dog.  This is the One Book – One Nebraska Book for kids in grades four through six.

October 29 – Join in the fun for the annual Trunk or Treat from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. on main street east of the United Methodist Church.  The Youth Advisory Committee will have a trunk and lots of treats!

October 31 – Happy Halloween!

September 1 – Library Card Sign-Up Month! Stop by the library and get your FREE library card for access to both print and digital book titles. Through Nebraska OverDrive you have FREE access to over 20,106 digital books and 8,607 audio books for both adults and kids!

September 5 – The library will be closed in observance of Labor Day.

September 11- National Grandparent Day. Kids – bring your grandparents to the library. Grandparents – bring your grandkids to the library. Special treats for everyone!

September 12 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at the library at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the book Goodnight, Nebraska by Tom McNeal.

September 18 – Story time at the library at 4:00 P.M. All cowpokes between the ages of four and eight are invited to attend.

September 19 – “Talk Like a Pirate Day” Aye mateys come in and check out our collection of pirate books or walk the plank!

September 26 – Kids Book Club will meet at the library from 4 – 6:00 P.M. to discuss the book – The Jungle Book and view the movie. The Kids Book Club is open to anyone in fourth grade and above.

August 3 – It’s National Watermelon Day! Stop by the library and enjoy a piece of watermelon.

August 8 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at 2:00 P.M. at the library. Jen Jackson from Barnes & Noble will be our guest speaker. She will be book talking the latest “reads” for our club members. Anyone is invited to attend.

August 15 – District OR1 begins school year 2016-2017.

August 21 – Children between the ages of four and eight are invited to attend COWBOY/COWGIRL story time at 4:00 P.M. at the library. Wear your hat and boots and come prepared to have a good time!

August 22 – Kid’s Book Club will meet at the library at 4:00 P.M. for their organizational meeting. The Kid’s Book Club is open to anyone in fourth grade and higher.

August 31 – It’s “bring your dog to the library day.”  Stop in and be sure to bring your favorite furry four-legged friend.
