February 6 – Join the Official Groundhog’s Day Celebration at Unadilla, NE.

February 7 – Super Bowl Sunday! Denver Broncos vs. North Carolina Panthers

February 8 – Palmyra Book Club meets at the library at 2:00 P.M. to share their favorite read this past month.

February 9 – Fat Tuesday

February 12 – Southeast Library Systems Board meets in Pawnee City.

February 14 – Valentine’s Day – stop by the library for a valentine treat!

February 15 – President’s Day

February 21 – Come join us for a Penguin Story Time at the library at 4:00 P.M. Learn how to make penguin snacks and more!!

February 22 – Kid’s Book Club will meet at the library at 4:00 P.M. to discuss the book Shiloh. Anyone in grades 4th through 6th grade is welcome to attend.

February 29 – The Youth Advisory Board will meet at 6:00 P.M. for pizza and brownies to discuss upcoming events for the year and book recommendations.

The Palmyra Memorial Library will be hosting Movie Night on Friday, January 15th at the Palmyra Activities Center.  The doors will open at 6:30 P.M. and the movie will begin at 7:00 P.M.  Snacks will be provided.  Come and enjoy an evening of fun!

January 11 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet at 2:00 P.M. at the library to discuss the book Pardonable Lies by Jacqueline Winspear.

January 11 – The Palmyra Library Board will meet at 6:00 P.M. at the library.

January 15 – Movie night @the Palmyra Activities Center. Doors will open at 6:30 P.M. and the movie will start at 7:00 P.M. Snacks will be provided. Bring your pillows and sleeping bags.

January 18 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day

January 25 – Kid’s Book Club will meet to discuss the book Aliens on Vacation at 4:00 P.M. at the library.

December 6 – Holiday Open House at the library from 12:30 – 5:30. Stop in for some cookies, punch and check out our new Christmas books and DVDs. You will also be greeted by a unique display of Santas.

 

December 11 – Holiday Lighting Contest starting at 6:30 P.M. Any home in Palmyra with their Christmas lights on will automatically be in the contest. Residents outside of Palmyra can enter at Decker’s Food Store by noon on the 11th. Winners will be announced on December 12th.

 

December 12 – The Palmyra Action League, INC. will be hosting Santa and Mrs. Santa at the Palmyra Activities Center from 11:30 to 1:30 P.M.

 

December 12 – Join us at the library for a book and a movie. We will be reading and showing the movie – of a very popular Christmas movie. This special event will be from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the library.

 

December 14 – The Palmyra Book Club will meet to share their favorite Christmas book. The book club will be collecting food for the Western Otoe County Food Bank. An “Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest” will round out the afternoon gathering.

 

December 19 – The Southeast Library System Friends group will be hosting a private showing of the movie – Star Wars – The Force Awakens at the Rivoli Theatre in Seward, NE at 10:00 A.M. Reserve your seat by December 16th. The cost is $7.00 per person.

 

December 21 – The Kid’s Book Club will meet at 4:00 P.M. to discuss the biography book they read.

 

December 25 – Merry Christmas

 

December 30 – The library will be closed. Have a Happy New Year!

November 1 – Candy Corn Contest Begins! Guess the correct number of candy corn pieces in the container and win. Winner will be announced on November 25th.

November 1 – Daylight Savings time ends!

November 1 – Play Library BINGO! Pick up your BINGO card at the library and start reading today. Open to all ages!!

November 2 – The Palmyra Library Board will be meeting at 6:00 P.M. at the library.

November 6 – Community Movie Night – Doors will open at 6:30 P.M. and the movie will begin at 7:00 P.M. The movie will be “Inside Out.”

November 9 – Palmyra Book Club meets at 2:00 P.M. at the library to discuss the book – The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.

November 11 – Veteran’s Day –  Honor those who served.

November 15 – Turkey Time Story Time at 4:00 P.M. at the library. We will be making turkeys and having a lot of fun listening to some Thanksgiving stories.

November 20 – CASTL (Conversations Among Small Town Libraries) will meet at Syracuse.

November 21 – Mockingjay Part 2 Private Movie Showing at the Rivoli Theater, Seward, NE at 10:00 A.M. Reserve your seat by Nov. 18th by e-mailing info@selsfriends.org. Movie cost $6.00 plus $1.00 donation to the Southeast Library Friends.

November 23 – Kid’s Book Club will meet at 4:00 P.M. to discuss the book – Double Fudge by Judy Blume.

November 25 – Candy Corn Contest Winner will be announced! The library will open at 12:30 and close at 5:30 P.M.

October 11 – Library will be closed.

October 12 – Palmyra Book Club will meet at the library at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the genre Amish Fiction.

October 12 – Youth Advisory Committee will meet at the library at 6:00 P.M.to plan for Trunk or Treat.

October 18 – Monsters, goblins and ghosts will be gathering at the library at 4:00 P.M. for story time. Open to all “brave” children ages four through eight.  Feel free to dress in your favorite scariest or not so scary costume.

October 23 – CASTL meeting at Central City Public Library.

October 24 – Trunk or Treat!!

October 26 – Kid’s Book Club meets at the library at 4:00 P.M. to discuss a Golden Sower Nominee!

Geocaching Workshop

Palmyra Memorial Library Hosts Geocaching Workshop

The Palmyra Memorial Library is hosting a Geocaching Workshop on Sunday, October 4th at 3:00 P.M. at the Palmyra Activities Center. Join the world’s largest treasure hunt!! There are millions of geocaches hidden around the world and there are some near you.   Tim, Lucinda, and Nima Faunce will lead this workshop.

They will explain the “ins and outs” of geocaching, the different types of geocaching, how to play and how to get started. Plan to attend this fun workshop and become a geocacher!!

Wildlife Artist Glen Gott

GlenThe Palmyra Memorial Library is pleased to host wildlife artist Glen Gott to the library on Sunday, September 27th from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.  The public is invited to view this exhibit.
