StoryTime at the Library

Ten toddlers from Natasha Siebrandt’s Barefoot Buddies daycare visited the Plymouth Library on Sept. 22. They listened to several books read by John and Janet McGary about the FALL season. They then roamed the room filled with cornstalks, goldenrods, sunflowers, leaves of all types, pumpkins, and red and green apples. This well behaved group found leaves, rode on the gigantic pumpkin, ate apples, and answered John’s questions about trees, leaves, and the seasons. This StoryTime event will be held in the library on the last Wednesday of the month at 10:30 am. Parents are invited to bring their children to enjoy the stories of special topics and themes.

FALL TOUR

The Plymouth Library will sponsor its annual fall tour on Saturday November 20, 2021. Dave Rosenbaum has lined up stops at four places near Omaha + a lunch stop. Flyers, the Plymouth Newsletter, Facebook, and the Plymouth Library will all be sources of information about this tour. A sign up sheet can be signed in the library or can be mailed in to help our planning. We will need several drivers for the day. We plan to leave from the library at 8:00 am and should return around 4:00 pm.

Stops will include: the Schramm Aquarium, Holy Family Shrine near Gretna, the Wildlife Safari Park which is nearby, lunch at the Around the Bend Steakhouse near Ashland, and a visit to Baker’s Candies in Greenwood before heading back to Plymouth.

You can also sign up by calling Dave at the library, 402-656- 4335

Nebraska Overdrive Libraries

OverDrive is a free service offered by your library that lets you borrow digital content (like ebooks and audiobooks) anytime, anywhere. Every OverDrive collection is slightly different because each library or school picks the digital content they want for their users. Our Library is a member of Nebraska Overdrive which is a huge collection and variety of content.

All you need to get started with free digital content from your library is a library card number, which you can call, or come in to the library to get your card number.

Libby app for Overdrive is also available for your device

To use Libby:

Go to your app store or Google play, however you get apps. Search for “Libby”

Download the Libby app on your smartphone. Sign in the same way as you did with Overdrive, with library account number and phone number. You can now borrow items, read and/or listen on your phone.

You can download items to your computer, smartphone and other mobile devices.
