FIND RESOURCES

Technology is shaping the way we all live and work. Artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and other emerging tech lead the charge at a dizzying pace, requiring job seekers to gain new skills, entrepreneurs and innovators to explore new tech, and the general public to build new digital skills and tech literacies. Libraries of all shapes and sizes have taken on the challenge to prepare their community for change.

WHAT WE DO

We are building a network of  Communities of Practice to share and co-create resources to help libraries of all shapes and sizes:

Understand Industry 4.0 Technologies

Accelerate Library Service Design

Reach New Target Audiences

Improve Staff Training & Outreach

The output of these networks will be fed into a central Resource Hub. We can all do more when we work together.

HOW COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE WORK

We’ll start by tapping into existing Communities of Practice like Nation of Makers, SLAITT, and LibsWork to aggregate the resources that already exist, scattered around the world wide web.

Then we will host a massive Meetup-style group to find out where the most interest lies, and build out a framework to sync into existing CoPs and create communities that do not yet exist. CoPs are meant to be fluid, forming, dissolving, or adapting as needed.

HOW THE RESOURCE HUB WORKS

Nobody likes to start from a blank page, so we’ll start by building a baseline Resource Hub that aggregates known AI activities, policies, implementation frameworks, and other resources designed to support school, public, academic, state, and regional libraries.

The Resource Hub will adapt and change alongside the CoPs, adding new categories as needed. We’ll start with these categories:

Tech 101 Guides

Activities for All Ages

Entrepreneurship Support

Career Exploration

Job Training

Older Adults

Innovation 101

Frameworks

Ethics

Basic Literacy

Cybersecurity

Innovation Support

Categories will be added and adjusted as CoPs learn and grow together.
