This morning, a few of their chapter members brought in some delicious treats for our staff.

The beautifully decorated (library-themed cookies) were in celebration of #NationalLibraryWorkersDay and #NationalLibraryWeek.

National Library Workers Day is a nationwide, annual celebration recognizing the valuable contributions made by all library workers at libraries across the country.

Pictured left to right are: Barb Endorf, Sally Bankson (Youth Librarian), DeAnna Way, Lori Hood (Library Aide), Sara Lee (Library Director), Shirley Greving, and Adele Maynard (Library Assistant).

The construction crew is very carefully separating the old cabinetry and old countertop from the beautiful oak surround of our circulation desk. This will make room for the new quartz countertop and new cabinets. It’s taking a bit of extra time to do this. However, it’s well worth it to be able to maintain the beautiful integrity of the original design. This piece complements very nicely with the oak canopy that hangs above it as well as with all of the beautiful woodwork featured throughout our building.

As part of this process, all of our beautiful (super-heavy) wooden bookshelves (and of course all of the books on them), will be picked up and moved NOT ONCE, but TWICE!😲

They’ll be moved from where they are now, to one side of each of the sections, and then back again.
