Hastings Memorial Library Summer Reading Challenge

Hastings Memorial Library Summer Reading Challenge

Summer is here and that means it’s time for our annual Summer Reading Challenge where you get cool prizes just for reading!  This year we are mixing it up a bit and have two categories to choose from.

Lucky Ducks

Ages 18 mo. – Pre-K

  • Read aloud with a grown-up for at least 1 hour each week.
  • Record your reading on your Lucky Duck log.
  • Bring it to the library each week and add a new duck to your collection!
  • Logs can only be turned in once per week.

Read for Beads

K – 5th graders

  • Color your reading log for every 15 minutes of reading. Any and all reading counts.
  • Bring your log to the library.
  • Earn a bead for each square, or special beads for every 4 squares.
  • Logs can only be turned in once per week.

Joining the reading challenge is easy!  Just stop by the library, pick up a log sheet, and start reading!  Logs can be turned in starting June 5th, and then each week after through July 31st.
