The American Library Association is celebrating Library Card Sign-up Month in September. The Holdrege Area Public Library is inviting Kindergartners in Phelps County schools to bring their parents to the library to help them get their very own library card.
This year, the American Library Association is thrilled to have Optimus Prime from the TRANSFORMERS as their special ambassador, highlighting that there’s more than meets the eye at the Holdrege Area Public Library. Whether you’re looking to enhance your skills, find valuable information, or connect with fellow avid readers, a library card unlocks a world of possibilities.
Parents need to bring a photo ID and something that has their current address on it (driver’s license, piece of mail, rent receipt, etc.) to verify contact information. Kindergartners will leave the library with their brand new library card, a special coupon and some books they have checked out to take home and read with their family.
This event is sponsored by the American Library Association and will take place through September 30. We are looking forward to getting to know the children and their families.
