Each week for the next few months we will showcase some of the best books from each side of our rolling picture book carts. Here’s our first batch. Come in on Saturday morning between 10 and 11:00 a.m. and we’ll read aloud several of these and follow up with coloring and Lego building challenges. Feel free to come in and check out any of them – they are all delightful books!

These are two wonderful games that provide a gateway to the world of meeples, tile placement, road or world building, and resource trading found in board games for older kids and adults.

The Similo card game is a co-operative deduction game. Your goal is to make the other players guess one secret character by playing other character cards from your hand as clues. You can play with one of the Similo sets on its own or you can use the cards from more than one set at a time!
Buildzi, Set, Tenzi, and Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza are all quick to learn games that would be great for any group!

These six board games are great for families with kids age 8 and up. Younger children could play with a little help. CuBirds and Ghost Fightin’ Treasure Hunters have been especially popular with patrons!

A group meets every second and fourth Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. to play cards together and welcome anyone interested to join them!
The library is transitioning to a genre-based system of organizing its books on the shelves, similar to what you might find in a bookstore. Now, it should be easier to head straight to your favorite genres (westerns, mysteries, historical fiction, etc.). You may even discover some new favorite authors along the way!
