A drive-up window and a book return are located in the alley on the north side of the library.
The drive-up window may be used to pick up books that you have called ahead to request or to pick up books that are on reserve for you. Reserves are held by last name. Please give us your last name or be prepared to show your library card or photo id when picking items up at the drive-up window.
You may also pay a fine at the window or renew your library account.
If you are returning books, please drive past the drive-up window to the book drop. Place books spine first into the drop to prevent damage.
Technology Room- Main Level
The Technology Room at the library has 16 computer stations that are available for public use and for classes. The computer monitors are mounted underneath the desk to reduce clutter and improve privacy. Other features of the Technology Room include a dry erase board and a drop down screen for presentations.
You must have a library card (without fines or overdue items) or fill out a visitor pass to use the Technology Room. Ask at the circulation desk for more information.
The library also offers free wireless Internet access for those using laptops or handheld devices.
The library offers a self-service copier & scanner available for public use located in front of the Technology Room.

The library offers incoming and outgoing faxing services for the public. Please see a staff at the front desk.

Lamination services are available to the public at the lower level staff desk. Please ask staff for assistance.

- Interlibrary loan is a service in which a patron may request materials not owned by the Seward Memorial Library from another library.
- The patron is required to pay return postage for the item received, whether or not they check the item out. This fee is due when the item is picked up.
- Patrons who lose materials received through ILL will be required to pay the fine or replace the item according to the policies of the lending library.
- Patrons using the ILL service at the Seward Memorial Library must have a library card here and must sign an ILL borrowing contract (click here to view the agreement) which will be kept on file at the library.
- Interlibrary loan items have an overdue fine of $1 per day with no maximum.
- You may request an item through interlibrary loan by filling out a form at the library or using the online form below.
A NebrasKard allows borrowers of participating libraries to borrow materials from other participating libraries! If you already have a Seward Memorial Library card all you need to do is fill out a NebrasKard form and we will put a sticker on the back of your library card indicating that you are a participant in the NebrasKard program. Those residing in the city limits of Seward may get a NebrasKard at no charge. A $15 per year fee applies to non-resident library cardholders.
How do I use my NebrasKard at another participating library?
Simply show your Seward Memorial Library card with the NebrasKard sticker on the back to the participating library and they will help you with the rest!
Are there any restrictions to using the Seward Memorial Library with a NebrasKard from another participating library?
Yes, you are limited to 25 items checked out at a time. Also, you cannot use the Overdrive service for downloadable audiobooks and eBooks via our library.

RAH or Read At Home is a home delivery service offered by Seward Memorial Library. The RAH service is offered to residents of the City of Seward who have a Seward Memorial Library card in good standing. If you are unable to get to the library because of a temporary or extended disability, chronic illness or are otherwise restricted to your home, you are eligible for RAH. If you are elderly and without transportation or if you are a resident of a local care facility, you may also make use of this service. There is no charge for this service. Please call the library at 402-643-3318 to be added to the route.

What is available through RAH?
Any materials normally allowed to circulate are available for this service, including books, magazines, videos and audio books. You will need to specify what you prefer to help the staff make selections.
How can I order materials?
The staff of the Seward Memorial Library will do everything possible to provide our patrons with the information they need. Staff will provide information in the form of short answers (research time 30 minutes or less) to specific questions for Seward County patrons who contact us.
