THREE NEBRASKA WRITERS COMING TO

THE SHELBY COMMUNITY  LIBRARY FOR BOOK SIGNING

   Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 15th, from 10 am to 12 noon for Kathy Nelson’s, Rick Godejohn’s & Karin Schreurs book signing at the Library.  The writers will take turns giving book talks starting at 10:30 am.

Kathy’s book is about GEORGE FLIPPIN who was the first African American to play football for UNL in the 1890’s. Flippin became a doctor in Stromsburg, Nebraska.  Kathy is from Stromsburg NE.

Rick’s book is a new romance fantasy novel. “Time in Eternity” is the story of an immortal man finally finding the one thing worth living for, only to find himself torn with a dilemma. Rick is from Shelby NE.

Karin Schreurs, has written two children’s books.  Her former students have illustrated both of these inspirational ‘tails of truth’ series.  The two books are entitled, “Penguin Powered Prayer” and “Squirrel Life” – Godly Wisdom for Everyday Living.  Karin is from Rising City.

1ST DOWNTOWN BOO AND TRUNK OR TREAT! WEDNESDAY, OCT 29TH FROM 6-8 P.M. a FREE WILL DONATION WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Please join the Friends of the Shelby Community Library along with the Shelby Chamber of Commerce for the first annual Downtown Boo and Trunk or Treat! Please come dressed in Halloween attire to trick or treat at the local businesses as well as several spectacular trunks!  Wednesday, October 29th from 6-8 p.m.  A free will donation will be accepted in support of the library.  Get ready for a BOOtiful evening!
