Summer Internship available
The Stromsburg Public Library is hiring an intern for May-August 2021. The position is a 100 hour position funded by a grant from the Nebraska Library Commission. The intern will work with staff in checking in and checking out materials, processing new materials, shelving books, maintaining the library and more. The intern will also work with the summer reading coordinator on preparing and running the summer reading program in July. Interns will also run a program for older students in the summer months that they design with the library director.
Applicants must be in high school or college and able to work Wednesdays in July. Applicants may pick up an application and job description at the Stromsburg Public Library.

I would like to introduce our new assistant to you – SunniJo Cooper. Some of you may remember her as SunniJo Johnson, daughter of Bob and Jodi. Sunni and her husband, Ryan, moved to Stromsburg in August and are remodeling a house to live in. They have two children, a boy and a girl who are in 5th and 3rd grades, respectively. Welcome, Sunni!
We will be leaving the Christmas novellas up for a couple more weeks in case you just didn’t have time to read them during the holiday season. Then they will head back to the basement until November. If you are ever in need of a Christmas novella throughout the year, just ask us and we will be happy to retrieve one for you.
We are starting Preschool Story Time again this month. We will be meeting January 20 and 21 at 10:30 am. We are reading books about forest animals and studying the tracks they make.
Our new book shelf is looking pretty full. We have the first two books in a new series by Barbara Taylor Bradford available as well as books by popular authors like Janet Evanovich, Lee Child, Susan Wiggs and more. Stop in and see what’s new!

We’re Hiring!
Assistant Librarian Needed
The Stromsburg Public Library is hiring for the Assistant Librarian position. Duties will begin on or before December 16, 2020. Duties will include greeting patrons, checking in and checking out of materials using the library computer system, looking up materials for patrons, processing new materials, working with the director and summer reading coordinator on library programming, preparing library displays, posting to social media and creating library flyers. This is a part-time position (20 hours) which includes evening and Saturday hours. For a complete job description and application please stop by the library.
