Nebraska Schools & Libraries are Breaking the Ice & Igniting Internet Relationships!
Please join us at the Bayard Public Library on Friday, November 16, 10:00 a.m., for their Sparks Grant Open House with guest speaker Governor Pete Ricketts.
Come learn how this partnership helps to narrow the Homework Gap for public K-12 students. By forming a mini-consortium between the local library and the public school district, small and rural libraries can maximize their E-rate funding and improve the public library’s internet speeds and technical environment. This benefits the community at large, particularly disenfranchised library patrons. Through this relationship, rural students are able to use their school issued devices to access the school’s internet (from the library), which in turn frees up computers at the library to be used by non-public school patrons.
