Author of “Bailey’s Butterfly” to Hold Book Signing

Mary Persinger will be signing her book at the Ainsworth Public Library on Saturday, May 23rd, from 2 – 3:30 p.m.  The author graduated from Keya Paha County High School in 1963 and currently resides in South Sioux City. She is a retired school counselor.  Writing a children’s story based on a true story was an idea that floated around in May Persinger’s mind for years.  The idea finally came to fruition with the publication of  Bailey’s Butterfly, which was released in January by Tate Publishing Company.   This title is the story of Bailey’s sister, Kristina, and how Kristina teaches everyone to celebrate not only the precious time her family had a earth with Bailey but also Bailey’s beautiful life in heaven.  The book is geared for children ages 5-10.

Mary (Welke) Persinger grew up in the Norden and Springview area and has numerous childhood memories of growing up in what “was like a little piece of heaven”. She remembers the wonderful experience of the Bookmobile coming to town and compares its arrival every few weeks to Christmas morning.  She believes that the bookmobile is the reason that her family are such avid readers.  Please come join us as we celebrate her book and a love of reading on Saturday!
