Top Readers in the Summer Reading Program Announced

The Ainsworth Public Library just finished their 2016 “On Your Mark, Get Set….Read” Summer Reading Program. Prizes and awards were handed out at the Ending Picnic held on June 29th.  If your child was not able to attend, their prizes may be picked up at the Library as soon as possible.

The grade school students have been keeping track of the time that they spent reading for the last four weeks. The top readers in the K-1st Grade group included Erick Hitchcock with the most hours read (19 hours 55 minutes); Carson Koch with the 2nd most hours read (17 hours 30 minutes); Macey Flynn with the 3rd most hours read (9 hours 35 minutes); and Bear Rea with the 4th most hours read (9 hours 2 minutes).

The top readers in the 2nd-4th Grade group included Taylor Allen with the most hours read (53 hours 6 minutes); William Biltoft with the second most hours read (49 hours 15 minutes); Jordan Beatty with the 3rd most hours read (17 hours 50 minutes); and Kaden Seidel with the 4th most hours read (15 hours 7 minutes).

I want to thank the parents for helping their children get to the library and be involved in our Reading Program. It is a joy to work with such bright and happy kids!  My wish is for all of the readers to continue to visit the Library the rest of the summer and keep on reading.
