Victorian Christmas

Yesterday’s Lady aka Sue McClain from Beatrice, NE presented Victorian Christmas. Sue brought a sample of her collection to our library which included dresses and traveling clothes from that time period, a German tabletop Christmas tree made from feathers, period postcards and more! Sue gave a historical background to the Christmas traditions we see today. This presentation was made possible by the Humanities NE, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment and in memory of Cal Robinson.

  1. What an amazing library!!! I work at the Lake Placid Public Library in Lake Placid, NY. This morning a woman came in to buy a book that was on our sale table on our porch. I double checked the book as it had a spine label.. The book had been withdrawn from your library. Being curious, I found you home page on the internet. Wow! What a beautiful library and what interesting programs.

    • Hello Linda,

Thank you for reaching out! How interesting that a book from our small library made it all the way to Lake Placid, NY! This prompted me to take a virtual look at your location, so fun!
