What is 1,000 Books by Kindergarten? This is a read-at-home program where families track the number of books that they read to their young child. The library supplies the tracking sheet/reading log. When your child reaches a 100 book milestone, we snap a photo of the young reader and their name is added to our 1,000 Books by Kindergarten reader’s wall. The child gets to pick out a prize, too! This is a simple program that encourages reading out loud. It is never to early to start, and it is never too late to finish! Stop by the library to get started.
