As you can see from the photos, it takes a LOT of stuff to run a busy library like ours.
We’re rapidly approaching WRAPPING UP Phase 1 of our interior renovation project and preparing for Phase 2.
In Phase 1 we’ve been tackling the public spaces.
Phase 2 will focus on the: staff work areas, meeting room, kitchen area, staff restroom, and storage areas.
A HUGE THANKS goes out to the City of Central City crew for helping us move everything out to the main areas of the library, in preparation for Phase 2. They were also a huge help when we had to move everything to the back, so all of our new flooring could be installed.
We’re also VERY THANKFUL for the volunteers that have been coming in to help our staff dust/straighten shelves, books, etc., so we’ll be able to open soon.

Behind the Scene Photos From Today at CCPL!
๏ธ๏ธ Most of our new carpeting was delivered today.
The public restroom fixtures have arrived and the tile on the floor and the walls is complete.
Cabinets in the meeting room and staff work areas have started being removed.
Library staff have been busy doing curbside services for our patrons.
There are still lots of books being checked out and returned each day.
Glue removal from the concrete in the main areas of the library is, for the most part, complete.
This is in preparation for the new carpeting that will be installed.
Electricians have been here this week, working on various items. They’ve finished the work on the new electrical floor boxes.
Staff have been super-busy boxing up as much stuff as we can, in preparation for phase two of our renovation project.
Phase two involves staff temporarily moving: our work spaces, equipment, supplies, etc. to the main (public) areas of our library.
This will allow work to begin on the behind-the-scenes areas (such as the storage room, staff workspaces, meeting room, etc.)
Before we reopen, we’ll need to thoroughly clean all of the bookshelves, countertops, etc.
If everything goes smoothly, we’re hoping to reopen during Lone Tree Days in July.
