Erika Heiman, daughter of Dan and Francis Heiman received a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card from the library’s summer Book Buck program.
During the months of June and July, the Hartington Public Library launched a new reading incentive called “Book Bucks” for 3rd graders and older. The kids were given the chance to sign in at the checkout desk to read in the library. Each received a Book Buck for a 30 minute session that was put into a drawing. The more you read and the more book bucks you gained, the better their chances of winning. The library gave away 192 book bucks which equaled 96 hours read in the library. Thank you to all those that participated, it was great to see so many library visits and dedicated readers this summer.
Also, thank you to the Friends of the Library for purchasing the prizes for this promotion.
Congratulations to our 2 and 3rd place winners; Carson Arens, son of Brad and Jan Arens received a $15 gift certificate to Mrs. Z’s Korner Kones and Mason Buschkamp, son of Tony and Brenda Buschkamp received a $10 gift certificate to Mrs. Z’s Korner Kones.
