The Board of Trustees of the Holdrege Area Public Library would like to notify the public that we are restarting the new library building initiative.
With increased attendance at recent events and the needs of our city and county, a new library building is necessary to provide adequate space, resources, and facilities for our residents. The Board of Trustees of the Holdrege Area Public Library believes that a new library building will better serve our community and support the educational and cultural growth of our city.
The Board is currently at two potential options for a new building:
- at the current location (604 East Ave.) and expanding to the lot directly to the north (610 East Ave.), or
- the western portion of the old Franklin School lot (Logan Avenue between 10th and 11th Avenues).
There are obviously pros and cons with any option but we want to make the public aware that a new building is a priority for the Library Board.
If you have questions or concerns, please address them to the Board through one of the following options:
- email boardpresident@holdregelibrary.org
- come to a Library Board meeting (generally the first Tuesday of the month at 4pm)
- write a letter to the Board (Holdrege Area Public Library, Attn: Board of Trustees, 604 East Ave, Holdrege, NE 68949)
- ask the HAPL staff, who can forward questions to the board
We look forward to hearing from you and getting your involvement in this process!
