A SILENT AUCTION OF ANTIQUES BOOKS NOW GOING ON AT THE LIBRARY
A Silent Auction of collectable antique books now through Saturday, April 16. The auction includes: Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin (No Copyright date), 1969 Grant Takes Command by Bruce Catton, 1958 John Hancock by Herbert S. Allan, 1964 Crazy Horse by Shannon Garst, 1928 Uncle Remus by Joel Chandler Harris, 1902 The Shadow of the Rope by E.E. Hornug, 1902 The Amateur Cracksman by E.E. Hornug, 1921 The Art of Home Decoration by Mary Harrod Northend, 1921 Ruth Fielding in the Great Northwest by Alice B. Emerson, and more assorted titles.
The Silent Book Auction is a fund raiser to supplement our limited budget. All items in the auction are sold as is and are final.
COME CELEBRATE NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK!
Fun activities are planned!
- A Silent Auction of collectable antique books will be held all week long, ending Saturday, April 16 at 1:30 pm. All items in the action are sold as is and are final!
- Adult Book Club on Wednesday, April 13 from 3:45 pm to 4:30 pm. All Are Welcome!
- Open House: FREE treats and coffee on Wednesday, April 13 from 3:45 pm to 7:30 pm.
- A used book sale for all ages will be held all week.
- Come in and take a “Book-shelfie” with your favorite book(s). The library can take your picture for you and can add it to the library Facebook page. The top Book-shelfie photo with the most likes will win a fabulous prize!
- Play library trivia and win a free treat.
- Sign up for library door prizes.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR…READING IS GROOVY! FEBRUARY 5TH-11TH DURING REGULAR SCHOOL AND LIBRARY HOURS.
The Scholastic Book Fair will be held at the Shelby Community Library February 5th-11th, during regular school and library hours. This book fair provides free books for our library. There are also opportunities to buy books for elementary classrooms and the library as well. Reading for pleasure inside and outside of school has real and long-lasting benefits. It unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. The Book Fair is a reading event that brings to school the books kids want to read. There is wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to join us for the 2016 Scholastic Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our school and our library!
