The Sutton Memorial Library Board met at 5:00 p.m. on August 3, 2017 for the August Meeting in the Library. President, Joyce Brown, called the meeting to order and referred to the Open Meeting’s Act. Present were: Librarian, Shelly Reed and Board Members, Joyce Brown, Carol Henricksen, Gertie Schmer,Harriet Maser, and Pam Overturf.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Bills for the month of July were presented and approved. The balance on hand in the Memorial Fund is $22,904.60 as of7/31/85, with recent expenditure of $989.85 for painting.
A thank-you note was sent to Linda Silvey for her donation.
Carman Provided the circulation report for the month of July as follows A.F. 482, ANF-24, E-121, JF-70, JNF-9, COM-372, Per-24, AUB-8, DVD-418 Total Circulation=3056, Visitors=1574
Old Business: The Library Board will complete the training via the computer following this meeting today to enable them to become certified.
Another estimate will be obtained regarding the update of the entrance to the library.
New Business: Shelly Reed has given notice that she will be leaving the library.as Librarian. Carman Ulmer has been appointed to assume the position as Head Librarian and the City will advertise for an assistant librarian. Carman will attend the Nebraska Library Conference Workshop in Kearney.
Harriet and Pam will obtain some estimates regarding new chairs for the lounge area.
Our next meeting will be September 7, 2017 @ 5 p.m. Without further business, President Joyce Brown closed the meeting at 5:30 p.m., and Library Board completed training via computer.
