The Sutton Memorial Library Board met at 5:00 P.M. on February 4, 2016 in the Library. President Joyce Brown called the meeting to order and referred to the Open Meeting’s Act. Present were: Librarian, Shelly Reed, and Board Members, Joyce Brown, Pam Overturf, Gertie Schmer, Carol Hendricksen, Harriet Maser were present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The bills of the month of January were presented and approved.
Shelly presented the circulation report for the month of January statistics as follows: A.F.-468 (O.D. 120), A.N.F.-35. Children-168, J.F.-82, J.N.F.-4, Computers-177, Periodicals- 38, Audio Books -0, DVD;s-205. Total Circulation is 1297, Total Visitors=488.
Old Business: Movie, “Philomena” was shown on Movie Night, January 22, with 10 present. The new laptop worked really well, and the speaker has been ordered.
The flag pole has been fixed.
New Business: Shelly and Carole will start a Story Hour for pre-school children, on Friday morning on the 2nd & 4th Fridays, beginning February 12th.
Shelly reported that she had attended a workshop meeting regarding Strategic Planning at the York Library on January 15th, and was able to gain some important information.
We continue working on Strategic Plan/12 Steps: A meeting with the Friends of the Library will be held on Thursday, February 11 @5 P.M. for a Round Table Discussion. The Library Board will question designated groups before this meeting regarding the Strategic Plan.
Our next meeting will be March 3rd @ 5 P.M.
Without further business, President Joyce Brown closed the meeting at 5:50 P.M.
