Not only does CCPL acknowledge this fact, it is built into the very backbone of our vision statement:

“CCPL is committed to achieving and maintaining excellence in providing public library services to the community.”

One of our library’s best assets is our beautiful building.

It was described just a few days ago, by one of CCPL’s former board of trustees members, as being a “jewel that we have in our community.”

As part of maintaining our library’s level of excellence: later this year, we’ll be embarking upon an interior renovation project.

Most of the furnishings, carpeting, tile, etc. are all original to our now 31 year old building. Areas of wear and tear are showing in multiple areas.

We’re looking forward to being able to do a general “refresh” of the inside of our building, while maintaining the beautiful integrity of its design.

One of the most spectacular things of beauty in our library, are the oak beams. They tie in beautifully with the: oak circulation desk front/overhead canopy, and the oak book shelves. Those are all staying, we’ll just be making some adjustments.

A hint… part of it involves shelves being moved.

The completion of this renovation project will help ensure that our “jewel” of a library continues to sparkle brightly for many, many years to come.

2023 is shaping up to be one of our most exciting years yet!

We hope you enjoy this sneak peek at what’s in store.

The furnishings have not been decided upon yet, shown are some of our options.

With every step of the project, we’ll try to minimize the amount of time that we are closed to the public.
