Youth Programs Offered

Story Time

Join us Thursday mornings at 10:30 to explore the world through exciting stories, songs, engaging crafts, & play time with peers! Story Time starts September 5th and will run through the end of April.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

This is a free program designed to be a hands off, go at your own pace introduction to at home literacy. The goal is to encourage an early love for literacy, the library, and family time while you and your child read 1000 books before they get into Kindergarten. The library is here to support your child through the beginnings of their love for reading. We have trackers and prizes for each milestone they reach. Bring your child between the ages of 0-5 to sign them up & take home a brand new book to keep!

Check our Resources tab for more 1000 Books Before Kindergarten book lists, activities, & information.

Tween Book Club

Next Meetings: September 25th @ 5:00pm

Tween Book Club is a great way for young readers to meet with like minded peers, take part in active discussions, and become involved with their library. We typically meet the 4th Tuesday of each month at 5pm, where we discuss the chosen book for the month and then pickup the book for next month. All books are provided by the library thanks to the Nebraska Library Commission, borrowers of each book lent out are responsible for any damaged or lost items.

Summer Reading Program

Every summer the Ceresco Community Library hosts a summer Reading Camp in collaboration with the Friends of the Library and a few local businesses! We run two, two week sessions with twenty-five spots per session and plenty of volunteer opportunities for anyone interested in helping.

The 2025 theme is … “Color Your World” (stay tuned for registration details)

The 2024 theme was … “Adventure at Your Library”
