Wednesday June 30th was the final story hour for 2021. We learned all about Ocean animals. We read a fun book called “Commotion in the OCean” and made a shiny fish magnet to take home. The kids each got a take home bag full of stuff. Included in the bag was instructions and material to make a window art craft including water colors, a water cannon, a bottle of bubble and a fun octopus snack! We then went outside and had a LOT of fun soaking Jenny and the helpers, having water slide races and just having fun in the water!
Thank you to everyone who took the time to bring their children to the library!
At week four of story hour we talked about Wild Animals! We learned all kinds of fun facts about wild animals, and then we made a craft with the local 4-H extension office leader, Emily Brodd. Emily helped us make some fun sock puppets! Everyone had a lot of fun designing their puppets! We also got outside and played a little Duck, Duck, Goose!
Week Three of story hour was all about our pets!!! We read a couple books about pets, made pet treat jars to take home and got a goodie bag of all kinds of pet related items and a snack! Then we got to meet the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit! We learned all kinds of fun and interesting things about Matrix from Bruce Mastin and Logan Kampschnieder.
Here are the recipes sent home with the kids for pet treats!
The John Rogers Library offers all members of the community an opportunity to transform their lives through education and lifelong learning. April 21 is National Library Workers Day, a great time to see what’s new at the Library and to thank librarians and library workers for their contributions. And remember — the John Rogers Library works because they do. Click the link below to nominate your favorite Library employee……. https://ala-apa.org/nlwd/
The Library is looking for some volunteers to help carry boxes of books out of the Library into vehicles and moved to the Auditorium for the Craft Fair. I am hoping to get this done the week of November 26-30. If you are interested in helping please let me know!!!!
