The Friends of the Library held their annual Christmas Bake Sale on December 13. There were many, many delicious baked items as well as time to visit with friends over a cup of coffee and roll. Approximately 100 people attended the morning event with nearly $800 in sales. Thank you to all those who baked items and also for purchasing items to help the Friends of the Library.
Children made Christmas tree ornaments for our tree in the Library. The ornaments were made with folded cupcake/muffin papers to look like a tree and then decorated with bling!
The evening and noon What’s Cookin’ groups met in December. Hostesses were Brenda Alberts, Cheryl Loschen, Dona Casper and Pat Beck. The evening group served taco bites, turkey salad on croissants, snowman cheeseball with crackers, upsidedown cranberry cake and hot cider. The noon group served chicken roll-ups with cheese sauce, cheesecake, plates of fudge and candy and hot cider. Great food and a fun time!!
A special story time and cookie decorating for the preschool class was December 18. We read several Christmas books and The Book with no Pictures followed by the children decorating their sugar cookies and eating them. Also, after school on Dec. 18, K – 8th grades decorated sugar cookies and ate them. We had some great decorators!
