LIBRARY HISTORY
A village library was created in 1935 by the Hildreth Philomath Club. Adult and children’s books were sent out as a “traveling library” by the Nebraska Library Commission. A makeshift library was then set up in the local drugstore. The library has since moved to several locations over the years. Currently it is located in the Municipal Building along with the city office and fire hall.
