Storytime

We listened to an oldie but goodie story this morning at storytime – Mrs. Wishy-Washy by Joy Crowley. Other activities included retelling the story using paper characters, bubble fingerplay and popping bubbles to the song Poppin Bubbles. We also learned that a bar of Ivory soap floats and has pockets of air in it from whipping the soap too long. Next we microwaved cut up pieces of a bar of Ivory soap and watched as it grew bigger and fluffier. We also got to feel how soft it was.

Morning Fun at the Library

We had a fantastic morning at the library with Katrina’s sister, Pat Pickering from Aurora. Pat taught the ladies under glazing, glazing and how to throw pottery. It is a hobby she has been doing for four years. Mugs, bubble bowl, stencil bowls and bowls on the pottery wheel were all made. We are so appreciative of Pat and her visit to our library to share her talents with us.
