S.T.E.A.M. & Makerspace at the Library, What is It?

What is a Makerspace or S.T.E.A.M. activity? It includes S.T.E.A.M. which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Our library was awarded a Nebraska Library Commission grant to purchase materials/equipment for our current K-4th graders using S.T.E.A.M. The Holdrege Area Public Library has many opportunities and not just for K-4th graders but for all ages to join in the fun with our activities!

Our Kid Zone monthly program includes many S.T.E.A.M. activities! Our next program will be on Nov. 17 with Ozobots from the Nebraska Library Commission, Artie 3000, Botley and a take home Christmas activity. Registration is required so that we can prepare enough materials for the kids.

Teen Innovation Station Program for 5th-12th Graders join us for *TWO* sessions of STEAM programs with Ozobots from the Nebraska Library Commission on Nov. 8th & 17th.
Teen Innovation Station programs will include a mix of using our makerspace equipment, S.T.E.A.M. activities, innovative challenges and more while learning teamwork and friendship skills along the way. Registration is not required and all library programs are free of charge!
