Literary Pumpkin Decorating Contest 2023

All ages are welcome to join in on our Literary Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

Soderholm Farms will be donating pumpkins to the library for patrons to use, a limited quantity while supplies last however please feel free to use your own pumpkin once we are out.

*Rules & Information*
Pumpkins can be picked up starting October 2nd while supplies last. Decorate your literary pumpkin at home and bring it to the Library to be on display! Entries must be returned to the library by October 16th for voting. Entries will be displayed for the community to vote on their favorite and one winner will be chosen on October 31st.

The pumpkin’s design must be literary-themed to qualify! Your pumpkin can look like your favorite book character or resemble a literary theme from a book such as your favorite scene or quote.

**No carved or cut pumpkins will be accepted.** Pumpkins must be decorated without carving, cutting, or poking holes. Pumpkins are to be painted or colored with markers. Acrylic paints or permanent markers work best. Yarn, construction paper, pipe cleaners, cloth, wigs, etc. may be used to decorate the pumpkin (as long as they do not pierce the pumpkin). Tape, paste, or glue can be used if needed.
