SHELBY COMMUNITY LIBRARY DONORS RECOGNIZED
The Shelby Community Library has installed a donor tree in the entrance to the library. The tree is intended to honor and thank all of the individuals, families, and businesses that contributed to the building and furnishing of the library. The tree was made possible with the help of artist Amy Tomasevicz, who donated her time and talent, and Clearly Creatively of Columbus. Those contributing to the library are honored with a bronze leaf for giving $500 to $999, a silver leaf for giving $1000 to $4999, and a gold leaf for giving $5000 and above. There are several blank leaves available for future donors. Future donations will be utilized to retire the remaining debt of $16,000, owed by the Community Library, on library furnishings.
SHELBY COMMUNITY LIBRARY RECEIVES LIBRI GRANT
Shelby-Rising City Students Enjoy New Books!
Students at the Shelby-Rising City Public Schools and community patrons will be reading some great new books thanks to the Libri Foundation’s Books for Children program and Pinnacle Bank of Shelby. The Shelby Community Library received a grant of 63 books, a value of $1052.08. This was a matching fund grant. The $350 portion of the local funds was paid by the Pinnacle Bank Teacher Scholarship, which they award annually. The grant award would not have been possible without the support of the bank and Libri Foundation. As seen in the picture, students really appreciate the new books and are looking forward to reading them. The Libri Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides books for rural public libraries throughout the nation.
