A cool education in a hot car!

A cool education in a hot car!

What a blast we have had over the last two weeks!  We kicked off our Summer Reading Program, “Every Hero Has a Story”, with 14 excited readers! Our very first guest was a veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Martin Jones.  “Casey” Jones served as a combat medic and had some great sad but uplifting heroic stories to share with our young patrons.  Our book was Don’t Forget, God Bless our Troops by Jill Biden and we made patriotic wreaths to honor our military heroes.  To our heroes at home and overseas who served in the past, who serve today, and will serve in the future – thank you!  Our next guest was Police Chief Matt Gartner from Dodge/Snyder.  Our story was Police Officer on Patrol by Kersten Hamilton.  Chief Matt wowed our audience with his cool uniform and gadgets, and his even cooler police cruiser; then ‘officially’ fingerprinted our patrons!  To our heroes in ‘blue’, we appreciate what you do every day – thank you!  Next week we will have a four-legged friend with us!  Meet Sam and find out why therapy dogs are heroes, too!  Until next time, stay dry and safe; I hope to see you soon at your Snyder Library!
