New Titles

November has brought us crisper weather and new items for check out. We have John Sandford’s “Storm Front,”and Iris Johansen’s third book in her Eve Duncan Trilogy, “Silencing Eve.”
The new John Grisham book, “Sycamore Row” is available in regular print, large print, and book on CD.
For those who enjoyed the Beatles, “When They Were Boys” written by Larry Kane. A book about the early days of the Beatles, when they were just getting started.
With the holidays right around the corner, the new “Gooseberry Patch Gifts from the Kitchen,” has many ideas for gifts and goodies.
These are just a few of the new items at the library. Come see our new lighting and all the improvements going on.

New Titles for September

The library is nice and cool, come in out of the heat and enjoy the new items for September, including:”Rose Harbor in Bloom” by Debbie MaComber, “The Last Witness” by W.E.B. Griffin, and “The Third Kingdom” by Terry Goodkind. Check out a DVD to watch at home, some new titles are: “The Great Gatsby,” The Big Wedding,” and “Olympus Has Fallen” to name just a few!

Constrution continues but the library remains open. Don’t let the “mess” stop you from coming in for a look!

Updates on Construction

Even with most of our lights being removed to get ready for new, we are still up and running. The new water line has been laid for the fire sprinkler system, electric work continues, floor to the new foyer has been poured with cement, and dirt work is still continuing on the parking lot. We are still open during this construction. Our hours are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and closed Sundays. Check Out Our Audio Books

Have you ever been traveling down the road and  wish you had something to listen too, other than music. The McCook Public Library has audio books that you can listen to  in your car. You can even listen to them on headsets while you are working in the yard, doing dishes, cleaning house or even out for a walk.

We have all the popular authors but they are on cds for you to listen too. Examples are: John Grisham, James Patterson, Debbie Macomber, Louis L’Amour and many others.

Also right now, we have many cd books for sale that you can take with you and not worry about getting them back. We also have some cassette recordings for sale too. Come in and see what we have for sale or check one out.

Library Construction is Happening!

Library Patrons,

We are starting construction at the library. We are asking for your patience and understanding during this time,. We are planning on a six month process. The library will remain open during much of the construction, with some part of the the library unavailable at different times. Please ask at the front desk is you need help finding anything.

When completed we will have a fire alarm and sprinkler system, new ceiling and lighting (upstairs and down), new foyer on north side of building with entrance to stairs and elevator leading to basement, updated room and restrooms downstairs, new shelving and parking lot to the north. This project is being funded by the McCook Public Library Foundation.

The City of McCook is funding new carpet for the main floor of the library.
